Worst Nightmare While Riding

Posted On : 06-12-2014

What was your worst nightmare? Someone killing you in your sleep? Having a conversation with a ghost in your dream? Because this video will show you what is actually the most serious and disastrous nightmare you would ever want to get in your life. It is the last thing that you have ever wanted, definitely. However, this actually teaches us a great lesson. There is the one main big lesson from this footage, which is to check your bike before you start riding. It is always a good habit to check your bike for any minor wear and tear before you move off.

Here are some things you need to check before moving off.

1. Check the tires, ALWAYS. They are the most important parts of your bike. If your engine quits, you roll to a stop. If a tire quits, you quit. So make the effort to check the surface of the tires, looking for any cuts in the rubber or foreign objects, like a nail. Check if the tire pressure is within a good gauge. If a tire is low every time you check it, even though you have added the proper amount of air each time, you might have a slow leak. Remember to fix it before it becomes a fast leak.

2. Check the controls. Cables are quite strong and rarely break, but look for any kinking sign or stiffness or anything unusual that you just don't feel right.

3. Check your lights(front and rear), and turn signals to make sure everything works just fine. Not forgetting to check your horn and adjust the mirrors too.

4. Check the oil and fuel and, if the bike is liquid-cooled, and the coolant levels.

5. If your bike has chain-drive to the rear wheel, it's always good to make sure that the chain is properly tensioned and stiill in good shape. Chains do need an occasional cleaning and dose of lubrication.

6. Make sure the side stand and center stand is fold up properly, and stay up. If one of the retraction springs is weak, or broken or missing, replace it at once.

7. As you roll off, check your brakes. This is to make sure that they haven’t gone away.
