Vespa Proves Once Again Why It's The Best Scooter Manufacturer

To the uninitiated, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) is a French luxury house was founded in 1961 by Yves Saint Laurent himself and his partner, Pierre Berge, currently under the creative direction of Italian-Belgian Anthony Vaccarello.

Collaboration between YSL and Vespa exhibited at Colette until December 20.

Hailed as one of the world’s most prominent fashion houses best known for its modern and iconic pieces, the Parisian fashion house resided on the first floor of a multi-brand store in France called Colette, located at 213 Street Saint Honore, until three days ago, December 20.

In an effort to celebrate the occasion, Vespa partnered with YSL to build a ‘unique collector model’ of the Vespa Primavera 125 – a higher-end make, of course. For that, YSL did not disappoint. And apparently, neither did Vespa.

They are calling it ‘the height of elegance’ with its matt black livery. The Primavera 125 was coated in matt black, paired with glossy black details on the mirrors, ornaments of the classic ‘tie’ on the front shield, and brakes. Even the rims and muffler guard were glossy black, every detail refined with the spirit of YSL.

But the scooter would not be complete without the symbol of haute couture, a handmade saddle that probably costs more than the whole Vespa itself if it’s anything like everything YSL creates.

However, even if the Primavera 125 is no longer available, we can still admire it from afar and applaud its chic look for a scooter. It is definitely one of the best that we’ve seen this year even without taking into account the subtle touches of YSL.

You did well, Vespa.
