Three Young Men Arrested for Alleged Theft of Motorcycle and Physical Assault Against Elderly

Posted On : 08-05-2018

2 teenage boys - aged 14 and 17, and one young man - aged 22, have been arrested on 4th May.

The trio were allegedly stealing a motorcycle in Lavender, behind Block 8 French Road on 24th April when an elderly man spotted their errant behaviour and shouted at them to stop.

Not only did they ignore his warning, one of them even started to hit the elderly man.

Luckily, a rag-and-bone man (or, in Singaporean terms, a Karung Guni man) also came across the scene and called the police, before shouting at the three young men to stop. The trio then fled.

Officers from the Central Police Division, having received the report, then proceeded to identify the three male youths before arresting them.

The suspects will be charged in court with the offence of theft of motor vehicle with common intention. If found guilty, they can be jailed for up to seven years and fined.
