The Twins of Royal Enfield, First Impressions at EICMA 2017

Posted On : 03-01-2018

The Royal Enfield 650cc twins were revealed at EICMA in November last year and the company has just released a video that shows the audience’s first impressions of them.

One commented, “The design looks nice,” while another said he “liked the style”.

It is the “rebirth” of the legendary parallel twin cylinder engine, driving the Interceptor and the Continental GT.

The Continental GT retained its classic horizontal split while the engine is elegantly cut off from the main bodywork with a dual cradle frame. And for an “authentic café racer vibe”, it has a specially sculpted tank, clip-on handlebars and other classic-styled instruments.

Meanwhile, the Interceptor is powered by an air-cooled parallel 650 Twin with a 7-innch headlight, twin clock front, and quilted twin seat.

The twins have a maximum 47bhp at 7,100rpm and 52Nm at 4,000rpm.
