The long awaited Ducati Panigale V4 – finally revealed
Ducati fans, rejoice – the Italian motorcycle manufacturer has just unveiled the 2018 Ducati Panigale V4, prior to the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy.

There are three different versions of the bike – the Panigale V4, Panigale V4 S, Panigale V4 Speciale. The Panigale V4 (standard) and S boast a grey and red frame with black wheels, while the limited edition Speciale comes with “Speciale” colour scheme, grey frame and black wheels.

The 1103cc superbike boasts the title of the very first mass-produced Ducati motorbike equipped with a four-cylinder engine. Ducati has removed the twin-cylinder in favour for a Desmosedici Stradale 90° V4 engine, which is derived from MotoGP engines. The bike also has a counter-rotating crankshaft, which rotates in the opposite direction. Inertial torque is generated in the opposite direction which reduces the frequency of the bike to wheelie. The bike accelerates faster and handling is improved. The bike is able to deliver a maximum power of 214hp@ 13,000rpm and a torque of 124Nm@ 10,000rpm. Lastly, three different riding modes are available for the Panigale V4, namely Sport, Street and Race.

The Panigale V4’s frame is brand new, and it is more compact than a perimeter frame. Called the ‘Front Frame’, it is lighter, at 4kg. The bike also comes with an adjustable 43mm Showa Big Piston Fork, as well as Brembo Stylema radial calipers. The latter is made from only a piece of alloy, thus each caliper is 70g lighter. The V4 S and Speciale come with Öhlins NIX-30 forks, Öhlins steering damper, and Öhlins TTX 36 rear shock. Another difference between the bikes is in the wheels. The standard version of the Panigale V4 is equipped with 5-spokes light alloy while the S and Speciale mount 3-spokes forged alloy, made of aluminium.

A 12.7cm, full-colour Thin-Film Transistor (TFT) dashboard display is also included in the Panigale V4. In terms of graphics and layout, the display has been completely changed, as well as an addition of a new “virtual” circular rev-counter, on the right side of the dashboard. There are two displays, Track and Road.
A standard machine price of a Panigale V4 costs you ~S$34300, while a V4 S will set you back by ~S$42600. The Panigale V4 Speciale is priced at ~S$62400 (all prices after conversion). It will be available come January next year. It is unknown if the bike will be launched in Singapore.
