The fifth episode of the Ducati World Premiere has finally paved the way for the new 2021 Ducati Monster.

Replacing the Monster 821 a new 937cc motor sees bumped up horsepower and torque figures while being lighter by a full 2.4 kgs. Also featuring a substantial set of electronics- the new Monster looks forward to thrilling riders on the street and track alike.

Despite retaining the trademark Monster silhouette, the 2021 Ducati Monster takes a more streamlined design approach.

The lowered headlight, bison-back-shaped tank, new frame, upswept tail section, and exhaust- this has to be the sportiest looking Monster to date. It radiates a sense of speed even while standing still.

The 937cc L-twin Testastretta engine betters the 821 by cranking out 111 horsepower as against 109 with peak torque rated at 93 nm @ 6500 rpm.

The torque output is not just up by 8nm but also produced at 1250 revs lower.

The six-speed transmission comes mated to an anti-patter type clutch with new hydraulics for increased acceleration and reduced rear-wheel destabilization during aggressive downshifts.

It also cuts down clutch operation effort by 20%. A bi-directional quickshifter is offered standard for faster scroll through the box. Ducati has stretched the service intervals with an oil change at 15,000 km, and valve play inspection once every 30,000 km.

Increased engine grunt is linked to a host of electronic aids with the 2021 Ducati Monster now featuring launch control.

It also gets 8 stage traction control, wheelie control, cornering ABS, Ride-by-Wire throttle, and three ride modes (Sport, Touring, and Urban).

Traction control, ABS, and Wheelie control levels are preset for each riding mode.

Sport mode offers full power with minimal intrusion of Controls, whereas Touring offers progressive power delivery with increased mediation of electronics.

The Urban Mode takes a conservative approach with only 75 bhp on tap with electronics at a maximum vigil.

The 2021 Ducati Monster ditches the staple trellis replacing it with a Panigale V4 derived aluminum frame. As in the case of the Panigale V4, the engine sits between the frame and a light-weight tail section.

The slimmed centre with an 820mm seat height facilitates easier flat-footing. An optional 800m seat is available for shorter riders, and if that’s not all, a lowering kit is also optionally available, bringing down the ride height to 775 mm.

Non-adjustable 43mm upside-down front forks and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock linked to a double-sided swingarm suspend the 166 kg motorcycle on the road.

New 17-inch light-wheel alloy wheels sport Pirelli Diablo Rossi III tires at both ends.

The braking arrangement comprises of Brembo M4.32 monoblock 4-piston calipers over 320mm twin front discs. At the rear is a two-piston caliper squeezing a 245mm single disc.

Performance numbers are displayed on the new 4.3-inch color TFT dashboard. An optional Ducati Multimedia System is available in store for smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth.

IT Gadgets can also be charged on the go with a USB power socket provided as a standard feature.

The 2021 Ducati Monster also gets full LED lighting with a revamped headlight encapsulated by a circular DRL.

Turn indicators offer sweep function with auto-cancelling mechanism and integrated with the fuel tank. A Panigale V4 inspired tail concludes the new design saga of the sleekest looking Monster to date.

Buyers can aesthetically personalize the Monster with stickers and cover kits offered as an accessory. Heated grips and carbon-fibre tipped twin-barrel Termignoni exhaust are also available for further customization.

Additionally, a Monster+ variant is offered with a fly-screen and rear seat covers.

Overall, the 2021 Ducati Monster is undoubtedly the best looking Monster in history.

A flowing design, improved hardware, and a sizeable set of electronic aids make it for a compelling consideration if looking out for a handsome street-bike with performance to boot.
