NUVIZ Inc. created the “only all-in-one motorcycle head-up display (HUD) with integrated navigation, communication, action camera, and music in a single device”. Their system enables riders to stay focused on the road while also connected with many an application. They can check their gauges, play and listen to music, take pictures and even film videos.
The HUD was judged amongst many other products by a panel of independent industrial designers, enegineers, and members of the trade media. The awards program, sponsored by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), aims to honor outstanding design and engineering in consumer electronics products across 28 product categories.
As explained by Rogalla, “Motorcycling can be a dangerous sport that requires constant focus on the road, yet virtually every bike out there requires the rider to look down frequently at their gauges, and smartphone apps for music, calling, and navigation dramatically increase rider distractions.” Their HUD eliminates all of the aforementioned distractions by displaying necessary information in the rider’s natural line of sight and features an intuitive eyes-on-the-road handlebar controller and built-in HD action camera, even when it is raining.
There is less risk and more fun with the convenience that NUVIZ’s HUD provides. You will only need either an Android device with Android OS 4.4.2/KitKat (or newer) or an iPhone/iPad with Ios 10.22 (or newer) – not a problem as virtually every single human being in the world has either of these.
The product will be commercially available in July but is available now for an MSRP of $699 (SG$952); online, the HUD can be ordered online.
