Singapore Traffic Police Cars Undergo Upgrade

All road users in Singapore, take note.

Just recently, the Singapore police released some photos on their community Facebook page ‘Use Your RoadSense’. The pictures show the police officers’ vehicles receiving a spanking new upgrade - traffic police cars will now come equipped with blinkers and a siren.

 

According to the Facebook post, these new technologies will reportedly be used for their “covert enforcement operations.” (Though what is so covert about bright lights and a machine that wails loudly, we don’t know.)

 

The blinkers include an LED sign board at the back of the car which can be used to flash different messages (see picture below) and are designed to warn motorists of an impending stop.

 

The police also reminded road users to comply with instructions given by the traffic police when stopped, and to continue practising good driving and riding habits.

 

“Safe roads can save lives,” they stated on their Facebook post. We couldn’t agree more
