MotoGP is set to kick off its 2026 season in spectacular fashion, with Singapore officially chosen as the host city for the global season launch. The event will take place on 6–7 February 2026, bringing all 11 premier-class teams, riders, and partners together in a two-day showcase that promises to combine motorsport prestige with world-class city flair.

This will be the first major season launch under Liberty Media’s ownership of MotoGP’s commercial rights, marking the beginning of a bold new chapter for the sport.

Why Singapore Was Chosen

Singapore edged out strong bids from Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne to secure the launch. The decision was based on its world-class infrastructure, global visibility, and proven track record in hosting large-scale international events. Its accessibility and streamlined logistics also make it an attractive choice for teams that will be moving directly from pre-season testing.

The 2026 Launch Schedule

The MotoGP launch in Singapore will immediately follow the first official pre-season test at Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit, held from 2–4 February 2026. Teams will then transport their equipment and staff to Singapore by 5 February to prepare for the launch on 6–7 February.

Details of the second pre-season test are still being finalized. Options include holding it immediately after the Singapore event or later in February, closer to the season’s opening race on 1 March 2026 in Buriram, Thailand.

What Fans Can Expect

For fans, this will be much more than a press event. The Singapore launch is set to deliver:

  • Team and bike unveilings, showcasing new liveries and designs.

  • Rider appearances, giving fans the chance to see their heroes before the season begins.

  • Interactive experiences, with opportunities for media, sponsors, and fans to engage with MotoGP in new and innovative ways.

  • Global media coverage, positioning Singapore as a new hub of motorsport excitement.

Implications for Teams

While the move adds an extra layer of logistics—transporting equipment from Malaysia to Singapore—the benefits of global exposure, prestige, and a high-profile stage outweigh the challenges. For teams, the Singapore launch represents a chance to showcase sponsors, connect with fans, and start the season with momentum in one of the world’s most iconic cities.

The decision to host the 2026 MotoGP season launch in Singapore is more than just a change of location—it’s a statement of intent. It reflects MotoGP’s ambition to expand its global footprint, elevate fan engagement, and usher in a new era under Liberty Media.

With its blend of speed, spectacle, and city glamour, Singapore is perfectly placed to set the tone for what promises to be a thrilling 2026 MotoGP season.

Mark your calendars: 6–7 February 2026 will be a landmark moment for MotoGP—and Singapore.
