Rieju Century 125, Nice To Meet You…Again?
RIEJU is a Spanish manufacturer of mopeds and motorcycles based in Figueres and they just recently announced the new Century 125 that was inspired by the legendary Rieju 175 of the 50s.

Designed and Italy but made in China, the scrambler-styled Rieju Century 125 has a 125 cc, single-cylinder engine tuned to make 15bhp at 9,750 rpm which can be cooled by water. It has a maximum torque of 12.3nm at 7,500 revs and is mated to a six-speed transmission.
With 4 high-performance valves, it has an acclaimed maximum speed of 130 km/h. And if it looks familiar it is because the Century 125 shares the same chassis and engine with the similarly Chinese-made Mondial HPS125 Hipster. Its engine is the Aprilia four-stroke single used in the Tuono 125 and RS125. Moreover, its suspension is also the same 40mm USD forks and dual remote-reservoir rear shocks with a weight of about 135 kg when dry.
The Reiju Century 125’s tank and seat are quite different from the Mondial’s, however, as they are more angular and the bellypan more off-road-styled. Its brakes also allow better heat evacuation which will cause less fatigue in extreme conditions.
While there are no news about the production of the Century 125 as of yet, it shouldn’t take long for it to become available in the market seeing as its almost-twin Mondial is already on sale.
