Pol Espargaro Bows Out of MotoGP Sepang Testing, Mika Kallio Takes His Spot

Posted On : 18-02-2018

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Pol Espargaro will be missing the upcoming MotoGP test at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand, announced yesterday on Twitter.

It has been reported that it might be due to a hernia in his L4 vertebra, an injury he must have sustained due to his crash two weeks ago at Sepang. As he was locking the front going into Turn 4, he sped through the gravel at a very high speed. He has already underwent surgery for it in Barcelona on Monday night.

As it is highly unlikely that we will see Espargaro on the race tracks anytime soon, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing has already enlisted the help of 35-year-old Mika Kallio.

The Finnish racer will be testing alongside 27-year-old Brit, Bradley Smith. They will officially begin on Friday in Thailand.

We hope all is well with the Orange Family and we are looking forward to the dynamic of the new duo.
