Ola Electric is revving into uncharted territory. Known primarily for its popular electric scooters, the Indian EV giant is preparing to shake up the motorcycle world with the Ola Diamondhead, a bold sportbike concept now slated for a 2027 market launch.
Unveiled alongside other futuristic prototypes such as a cruiser and adventure bike, the Diamondhead immediately captured attention with its radical styling and promises of cutting-edge performance. Now, fresh reports from India suggest the bike is inching closer to production — and it could redefine what riders expect from an electric sportbike.

A Bold Design That Breaks Convention
First showcased in 2023, the Diamondhead turned heads with its strip-style headlight that wraps around the front fairing, creating a sleek, cyberpunk aesthetic. Its futuristic design doesn’t stop there — the fairing extends over the handlebars, seamlessly connecting to the faux fuel tank and giving the bike a bold, spaceship-like silhouette.
Ola has retained this design language for the upcoming production model, signaling its commitment to making the Diamondhead as visually disruptive as it is technologically advanced.
Technology at Its Core
The upcoming sportbike is expected to debut with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), offering features such as active braking and adaptive cruise control — technology rarely seen in motorcycles today.
Underpinning the Diamondhead is Ola’s proprietary 4680 Bharat cell battery, developed in-house to deliver higher energy density and efficiency. Engineers are reportedly working to improve range, power output, and charging speeds before the bike hits the market.
Lightweight construction will further enhance performance, with Ola using premium materials like aluminium, carbon fibre, and magnesium to keep the Diamondhead nimble while boosting durability.

Superbike-Level Performance
While exact specifications remain under wraps, Ola has made some bold claims. At its 2025 Sankalp innovation event, the company revealed that the Diamondhead could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0–62 mph) in just two seconds — placing it firmly in superbike territory.
If achieved, this blistering performance would make the Diamondhead one of the fastest electric motorcycles in the world, challenging not just rival EVs but also traditional petrol-powered superbikes.
A Turning Point for Ola Electric
The Diamondhead represents far more than just a new model — it’s a statement of intent. Ola Electric, a company best known for city-friendly scooters, is aiming to prove it can compete at the very top of the motorcycle market with a futuristic machine that blends innovation, performance, and style.
If the bike lives up to its promise, it could mark a turning point not just for Ola, but for the global perception of electric motorcycles. By 2027, the Diamondhead may stand as a symbol of how EV technology has finally caught up with — and perhaps surpassed — the legacy of petrol-powered sportbikes.
