Nicolò Bulega Claims The 2026 WorldSBK Title As Ducati Celebrates A Historic Triple Crown And An Unbeaten Debut Season For The Panigale V4 R Through Cremona.

Nicolò Bulega is the 2026 Superbike World Champion, delivering Ducati another historic chapter during the Italian manufacturer's centenary year. The Aruba.it Racing - Ducati rider secured his first title in WorldSBK's premier category with a second-place finish in Race 2 at the Cremona Circuit on September 27, wrapping up the championship with two rounds still remaining. The achievement makes Bulega the first Italian rider to win the WorldSBK Riders' Championship with Ducati, and fittingly, he celebrated the landmark result in front of his home crowd. It was also the centrepiece of a spectacular triple crown for Ducati and Aruba.it Racing - Ducati, which secured the Riders', Manufacturers' and Teams' titles after a season dominated by the new-generation Panigale V4 R.

Bulega Dominates 2026 With 26 Victories From 30 Races

Bulega's championship campaign has been extraordinary for both its outright speed and remarkable consistency. With two rounds still to race at the time he secured the title, the Italian had accumulated 26 victories from 30 races, finishing second in the remaining four—all behind teammate Iker Lecuona in four Aruba.it Racing - Ducati one-two finishes. Bulega also produced nine consecutive pole positions and set an all-time lap record at every circuit visited through the Cremona round. Ducati had already been guaranteed the Riders' Championship since Donington, when Bulega and Lecuona became the only two mathematically eligible title contenders with four rounds remaining. The 2026 crown is Bulega's second world championship with Ducati following his 2023 WorldSSP title, making him the first rider to become World Champion in both the Supersport and Superbike categories.

Panigale V4 R Completes a Perfect 30 Wins From 30 Races

Bulega's title has arrived alongside an equally remarkable debut season for the latest Ducati Panigale V4 R, which Ducati says remained undefeated through the first 30 races, winning all 30 with Bulega and Lecuona. The new-generation machine introduces technology closely connected to Ducati's top-level racing development, including MotoGP-derived Corner Sidepods and the Ducati Racing Gearbox, with Ducati highlighting these as innovations appearing for the first time on a road-legal Ducati motorcycle. The V4 R continued the winning legacy established by its predecessor since 2022 and secured Ducati's fifth consecutive Manufacturers' Championship. It also joins the legendary Ducati 916 and 999 as the only Ducati motorcycles to capture both the Riders' and Manufacturers' WorldSBK titles during their debut season, underlining just how successful the latest superbike has been from the moment it entered competition.

Ducati Extends Its Extraordinary WorldSBK Record to 22 Manufacturers’ Titles

The 2026 triumph further strengthens Ducati's position as the most successful manufacturer in WorldSBK history, a championship it has contested since the inaugural 1988 season. Following Cremona, Ducati's record stands at an extraordinary 479 victories, 1,266 podiums, 17 Riders' Championships and 22 Manufacturers' Championships. Its title-winning lineage stretches from Raymond Roche in 1990 through champions including Doug Polen, Carl Fogarty, Troy Corser, Troy Bayliss, Carlos Checa and Álvaro Bautista, with Bulega now joining that list. The Panigale V4 R itself has delivered five consecutive Manufacturers' crowns from 2022 through 2026, while the latest generation has also received international recognition away from racing, earning the Red Dot Award, iF Design Award and Good Design Award in 2025. Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali described the latest championship as a success with a particularly Italian character, highlighting the combination of Bulega's development, the team's work and a motorcycle designed and developed in Borgo Panigale.

A Historic Ducati Centenary Crown Opens Bulega’s Next Racing Chapter

Winning a WorldSBK championship is already a defining achievement, but Bulega's 2026 crown carries additional significance because it arrived during Ducati's 100th anniversary, on Italian soil, aboard a brand-new Panigale V4 R that immediately established itself at the front of the championship. It also closes one chapter while preparing another: Ducati has confirmed that Bulega will move into the MotoGP World Championship in 2027, continuing his journey with the Italian manufacturer at motorcycle racing's highest level. From becoming Ducati's 2023 WorldSSP champion to dominating WorldSBK with 26 victories in the opening 30 races of 2026, Bulega's rise has been rapid and emphatic. Combined with Ducati's triple crown and the Panigale V4 R's unbeaten debut campaign through Cremona, the title gives Ducati's centenary celebrations a result that will hold a permanent place in the company's racing history.
