The new product launch for Harley Davidson is the Street 750. The 2015 Harley Davidson Street 750 is almost always compared with the Iron 883 but this bike is a nice mix of urban, freeway and back road rides. Why? The comforts of its seats go as low as 712 mm. It gives the bike a feeling of low and short. But the low ride also gives the Street a feels of maneuverability in steering and great ground clearance. This is Harley’s global entry level bike which is a V-twin cruiser.
What is there to look out for in this Street 750? The engine is a 60degree V twin 749cc liquid cooled. Its bore and stroke is at 85 x 66 mm. The induction is Mikuni EFI 38mm. The compression ratio is 10.5:1. It has a four valve per cylinder SOHC. You can shift up to 6th gear. It has a belt for its final drive. Suspension in front is fork type and rear suspension is twin rear shocks. Brakes in both front and back are single disc dual piston caliper. Its petrol capacity is at 13.25 liters. It boasts of a 57.6hp at 7955rpm and has a torque of 58.5 Nm at 3790 rpm.

Style, Design and Power

In terms of style it is a monster of a classic look designed to hit the new terrain. A few modern nitpicks on the bike include the bracket for the foot controls. They are made of stamped steel. This is the first of its breed. There will be reviews on the bike for Harley Davidson fans who would want to try a first generation bike built for 2015. It was first mentioned by the company in the X Games so as to lure motorcycle enthusiast in the event buy the Street 750 when released.
It is a light weight bike that you can easily drive in traffic. The Street 750 can be gladly taken for a ride around town with its easy controls and powerful engine. It is tagged by Harley Davidson as an urban cruiser. It is quick between stop lights and agile enough to make quick turns in traffic plus it is compact and light. Its suspension is comfortable. Skipping the clutch is no problem at all and shifting from one gear to the next is a breeze. The bike also has a small café style windscreen which provides a buffer for the wind, not much buffer though.

Customization?

Is this bike open to customizing? Yes, it is! Harley Davidson actually has tons of accessories for the Street series. Aftermarket parts will follow suit. But the common public would always go for bang for the buck! The question is: Is it worth all the money? Quick answer to this is that since it is a first generation it is. It is a good investment. Motorcycle fans know that Harley Davidson bikes are durable bikes which can last a long long time with proper care. And this being a first gen bike could go a long way especially for collectors out there. The engineers of Harley have produced a 1st gen of the Street for this generation to cherish.
It has tones of potential in customization. The in house customization parts show great potential as to how the bike can look personalized to a riders’ preference. With the price set for the Street 750, there is still a lot of room for customizing it. You can go make it have a rugged musky look or have a techno touch to it. You can make it a classic black bike with minimal aftermarket parts. Nonetheless, there are plenty of options for you to make this bike personalized.

Notable imperfections on the Street 750

There are still quite a few improvements which the bike has to work on in its latter generations. The power and customization potential is quite great so we need not mention that for improvement. Harley can probably release a different cc in a couple of years to add more power to the bike. With this, there are quite a few notable things that the engineers have to look at. The bike is built for a not-so-tall person. If you stand 1.8m and above you might find the bike too small for you because your legs will probably be higher than the petrol tank. It probably is because it is a lightweight bike.

Bottom line

The 2015 Harley Davidson Street 750 is one of a kind. With its release in the X Games, it is expected to captivate the younger motorcycle enthusiast to try out this street bike built for urban cruising. With its light weight and compact design, it is more suitable with drivers who are 1.78m and below. But the power under its tank is not to be under-estimated. Tested on the Dyno, it rolls quite a powerful engine suitable for its size.
