New Head of Marketing For MotoAmerica 2018: Alec Marshall Introduces New Media Events

Any type of industry or field will be lost without at least a marketing or media team. They are the people with the most knowledge on how social trends ebb and flow, and similarly, how a company’s target audience gets affected by them. For the motorcycle industry, the advertising and marketing aspect would be the second most important part of the whole process, after the manufacturing part. Without advertising strategies and implementation, the bikes will never see the light of day. Or at least nobody would buy them because they would not have known about them without proper advertising.

MotoAmerica has gotten the ball rolling for 2018, however, with a new addition to their team. Alec Marshall, formerly with AAPL, Roku, and Avid, is now MotoAmeriaca’s new Chief Marketing Officer.
It is within the scope of the marketing team to identify the correct target audience as well as the best possible way to reach them. Marshall said, “We’re seeing some interesting trends in sports. Millennials and younger audiences are watching and attending sports differently.”

They are, of course, taking full advantage of this shift of events. “It’s our thought that the excitement, individuality and speed of MotoAmerica racing is perfect for younger, gaming-oriented audiences,” he continued. “This is a brand-new opportunity, not just for MotoAmerica, but for racing and sports in general. To this audience, this is a brand-new sport.”

To grow in exposure and even revenue, an industry has to keep growing. It must keep increasing in creativity and innovation to hold the interest of their existing customers and stakeholders as well as to capture the attention of possible customers and stakeholders.

“We’ve created one of the most exciting racing series in motorsports history, and we’re thrilled to bring Alec Marshall in to help shape it for new audiences and a whole new sports landscape,” said President Wayne Rainey.

According to MotoAmerica’s press release, their media distribution packages and events will be updated and will now also include live music and festival-like activities. Their current schedule starts with the Dunlop Preseason Test in March while the first 10 rounds of MotoAmerica will begin in April 13 at the Suzuki Championship at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia.
