New Benelli Sport Tourer Revealed in China
A new Benelli 302 tourer has just been revealed in China, home of the Italian brand’s parent company, Qianjing.

It is based on the Benelli BN302R with an adventure touring style front fairing, a tall windscreen, and standard crash guards. As a result, its weight has increased to 216 kg wet, which is definitely not what you'd call a lightweight sport tourer.
It also has hard panniers and a top box that is suitable for those who prefer long distance touring.

The engine is expectedly the same as the BN302’s given its close ties with the same 65mm bore, 45.2mm stroke and 12:1 compression ratio. The only difference is its outpupt, which is rated at 34hp, down from 37hp for the naked bike, and a slight increase to 25Nm of peak torque.
The split seat setup is wide and comfortable for long rides. The front turn signal lights are integrated into the fairing which gives a premium touch to the motorcycle.

The Benelli Tourer is also equipped with upside down forks at the front and side-mounted monoshock suspension at the rear. Braking duties are handled by twin-petal disc at the front and a single disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS.
Given the same engine and full fairing, the Italian company could bring the 302 Tourer to India as motorcycle touring is becoming popular in the country.
A European-spec version is also still not guaranteed as there might not be a market there for a 300cc twin-cylinder touring bike.
