MV Agusta Brutale 800 Dragster: Designed for Adrenaline Addicts

Posted On : 08-10-2014

If you have been waiting for an adrenaline rush, this is the bike you have been looking for. The 2014 MV Agusta Brutale is a lean and mean machine! It is compact and yet powerful in its 800cc 125 hp engine. This 800cc dragster is a sports bike like no other. It is great for the road and for the circuit as well. It has a daring style that some low end motorcycles try to imitate. The style is highlighted by a pillion that looks to only accommodate. And talking about the back fender, it is just a “hairline” of a fender that mounts to the single swing arm.

This bike is an evolution to other bikes. If you think that the design is similar the Ducati’s Diavel, you are quite wrong. This bike is an evolution of the Brutale series, a true Dragster. The restyling was smart and brutal! (to be faithful to its name the Brutale). The most obvious design is the Pirelli Diablo rear wheel sized at 200/50/17. The size of the rear wheel gave way to chassis redesign from its previous version which had a 180/55/17 aspect.
The rest of the chassis remains unchanged: a classic trellis frame with machined Al jaws that solidly clamp the rear section of the engine and find the swing arm pivot which is very important Dragster design. The bike, that weighs a claimed 167kg.

The Marzocchi fork, a 43mm inverted style, is absolutely adjustable in compression, rebound, and preload, as is that the Sachs shock. Brembo brakes—with twin 320mm front rotors and four-piston calipers before and a 220mm rear with a two-piston caliper—provide great stopping power, assisted by ABS. The dramatic improvement of the physical appearance of the 2014 MV Agustas, is initially felt on the Rivale 800. There has been additional refinement on the Brutale 800 Dragster. The most recent MVICS (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Controls) system has a new refined hardware, however the new computer code, paired with it, a revised engine management strategy, has additionally yielded positive results. MVICS, for the record, relies on the Eldor EM2.0 engine management unit and Mikuni ride-by-wire throttles.
Switches and controls on the bar are built straightforward so that the rider can easily to pick out riding modes and change them accordingly. The system offers four torque-delivery setting and connected mappings. 3 modes are: Sports, Normal, and Rain. It lets the rider ride in the best suitable condition the driver chooses to with most popular parameters in engine response like rev limit, engine response, throttle, and engine braking. A computer is used to interface with the MVICS so that it can regulate the computer code, at keep it in established limits. Traction management can be chosen in more than 8 levels which might be disengaged anytime the rider chooses to.

First Ride Feel

The adrenaline rush you get from this bike is not just because of its style but because of its performance. It can smoothly reach a top speed of up to 250kph. It can accelerate in just seconds with its 125 horsepower and maximum torque of 81Nm. It can carry 16.6 liters of petrol which gives you about 19kmpl. So, you can reach up to 209 kilometers per full tank. The engine size of 798cc is four stroke liquid cooled dohc 12valve inline triple guarded by its tubular steel trellis frame. The brake system is Brembo and it performs flawlessly on sudden stops.

Although saddle height could be a smidgeon on top of the Brutale, it’s still short-rider friendly. It is recommended for smaller riders. If you are a tall rider that loves to move about the saddle when banking in curves, you might find it hard to do. The bar offers a pleasing upright bend however is slightly narrower and has a lot of rearward sweep within the normal ‘0’ setting but this may be adjusted.

Even though its shifts are the same from the previous Dragster, it feels significantly completely different than the first 800cc version of the bike. The seating position is a lot more intimate and can be a good squeeze for taller riders. The cockpit is restricted and feels slightly awkward at most leans. However if the rider is wearing jeans it’s a lot more accommodating to maneuver around on, nonetheless the bike seat isn’t quite as cooperative. If you’re smaller than average there’s an honest likelihood you’re about to love the Dragster’s tailored work. A true adrenaline rush for bike enthusiasts!
