“Our organization is proud to partner with leaders in the community that will help us further our mission of creating a stronger society by connecting children to safe and loving families,” says Connect Our Kids co-founder and COO Jessica Stern. “We are grateful to have the support of the Richmond community.”
The event will take place on 30th June from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM, where riders will depart from Steele Horse Harley Davidson in Midlothian and end at Byrd Park. After the ride through, there will be a festival of sorts at the park, where live music will be provided for entertainment. Food will also be available for participants to have a picnic while activities will be organized by Romp & Roll for children.
A donation of $20 per rider and $10 per passenger is requested, while an additional $10 donation will be requested from the picnic guests. Children under the age of 10 will have free access to the event.
Connect Our Kids is an early stage nonprofit that aims to improve the outcomes of foster care placement in the United States by making use of modern technology. To do so, the organization is partnering with effective leaders throughout in both the public and private sectors to develop family-recruitment technology and create a more cohesive process. They intend to share their technology with those in the industry so that children can be connected with permanent and supportive families as soon as possible.

On the other hand, the Buffalo Soldiers is one of the oldest motorcycle club in the Richmond area. They involve themselves in the community by participating in as many events as possible, and aim to also promote a positive image of African American motorcyclists. While doing so, they will then educate themselves and others to the many positive contributions made by the great African American soldiers.
As stated by the club, “Sometimes you have to get knocked down lower than you have ever been to stand back up taller than you ever were … Through eviction and destitution, we still stand!”
