Motorbike Wrapped in Crushed Velvet for Sale on Craigslist

While there are many unique custom motorbikes we have seen, this one certainly takes the cake for being, well, weird.

Currently on sale in Topeka, Kansas, this motorbike combines two very different concepts - the grime, dirt, and powerful engines being revved all associated with the typical motorcycle, and the soft, smooth, sensual characteristic of velvet.

This makes for a very odd aesthetic indeed, something even the owner (and seller) of the bike acknowledges.

“1995 Honda CBR 900 RR, very unique. Yes, it is wrapped with wrinkle crush velvet. Salvage title and has a 96 motor in it. Will need tires. We've had the bike since 2001. Cross posted,” the advertisement stated.

The manual transmission Honda is also said to be in good condition, although the bald tires and ‘Salvage’ title status beg to differ.

For the reader’s knowledge, vehicle title branding is apparently a concept exclusive to North America. The salvage title means that the vehicle has been damaged and/or deemed a total loss by an insurance company that paid a claim on it.

Although a salvaged motorcycle means extremely low costs (at about $3,350 for this particular bike), experts also recommend caution when buying a salvaged vehicle due to possible hidden damage, which, if unrepairable, may render the vehicle a “pile of parts”.

Not a very good deal, if you ask me.

The vehicle being wrapped in velvet doesn’t seem very practical either, especially when paired with all kinds of weather conditions.

Would you get this special motorbike, even if it was just for the novelty of riding an oddball machine down the streets and gaining bemused stares from onlookers?
