Man of Steel Buys A 158hp ‘Steel Horse’
If Superman has his Kryptonite, then Henry Cavill has a Ducati XDiavel S. That’s right, the Man of Steel actor got himself a ‘steel horse’ to match his moniker.
Cavill has been extremely enthusiastic about his foray into the motorcycling world by Insta-updating the public on his progress. About a week ago, he shared that he passed his test with the help of Chris Spinks, Mark Campbell, John Bond, and Christian Duffell from, funnily enough, Metropolis Motorcycles. (To the uninitiated, Metropolis is the fictional home of Superman.)
Triumph even got a shout-out from the British actor, saying, “Also a big thank you to Triumph for the riding gear and the use of this fantastic Street Scrambler!”

Very soon after, Cavill is seen in what looks like a Ducati workshop, aboard the monstrosity that is as big as the Kryptonian actor on it.
This is what he had to say about the purchase: “Another little event in my life that I’ve kept under my hat for a bit. After I passed my test I gifted myself 158 horses, alllll contained in this here steel horse! For those of you out there who may panic and say that it’s too big a bike, worry not. There are 3 riding modes…all the way from I’m ready, I can handle this to Beyonce’s Jelly. It’s been locked away for a bit due to the wintery-ness that we’ve been experiencing in the UK but i will take full advantage of the sunshine when it comes back!”

5.000, 147, and 40 are three numbers that summarise the XDiavel concept. 5000 the number of RPM at which the engine delivers maximum torque, 147 the ergonomic configurations for the rider, 40 the degrees of the angle at maximum lean.
It also has the latest evolutionary step of the testastretta engine: the Ducati Testastertta DVT 1262.
The three riding modes, although humorously explained by Cavill, are the Urban mode for city-dwellers, which will be handy for the UK-based actor, the Touring Riding mode for maximum comfort on long journeys, and lastly, the Sport Mode for a fun experience.
