German lubricant specialist LIQUI MOLY is expanding its motorcycle product range with the launch of its first coolants developed specifically for motorbikes. The company is introducing Motorbike Coolant Ready Mix Hybrid and Motorbike Coolant Ready Mix OAT, two products designed to cover a broad range of specifications and suit most motorcycles on the market. According to LIQUI MOLY, the expansion follows strong international demand for motorcycle-specific cooling products. Just as in cars, coolant plays an essential role in keeping a motorcycle engine at a stable operating temperature while providing protection against overheating, frost and corrosion, making the correct fluid particularly important for reliable year-round riding.

Two Ready-to-Use Coolants Designed for Different Motorcycle Engines
Both new LIQUI MOLY products are ethylene glycol-based coolants supplied as a 50:50 premix, meaning riders and workshops can use them without having to dilute or prepare the fluid themselves. They will be offered in convenient 1-litre canisters, but the key difference between the two products is their underlying coolant technology and consequently the types of engines for which they are suitable. Motorbike Coolant Ready Mix Hybrid provides the hybrid option, while Motorbike Coolant Ready Mix OAT uses organic acid technology and contains no silicates, making the OAT version particularly suitable for modern high-performance aluminium engines. Both formulations are free from amines, phosphates and nitrites, while the OAT version is additionally formulated without borates.
Wide Specification Coverage Makes Them Suitable for Many Motorcycles
LIQUI MOLY has developed the two coolants to meet the requirements of a wide variety of motorcycles sold internationally. The company recommends both products for vehicles requiring ASTM D3306/D4656, British Standards BS6580 and JASO M325 specifications. The Motorbike Coolant Ready Mix Hybrid extends that compatibility to motorcycles requiring BMW GS 94000, French Standard NFR 15-601, G11 and Swiss Fed. Lab. Empa requirements. Meanwhile, Motorbike Coolant Ready Mix OAT is additionally recommended where the G12+ specification is required. This broad specification coverage is central to LIQUI MOLY's strategy, allowing the two-product range to address different cooling-system technologies and motorcycle engine designs across global markets.

LIQUI MOLY Warns Riders That Choosing the Correct Coolant Matters
Despite the broad compatibility of the new products, LIQUI MOLY stresses that riders should always follow the motorcycle manufacturer's specified coolant requirements rather than selecting a product based solely on convenience. Markus Kastner, LIQUI MOLY's Export Business Development Manager, warns that using the wrong coolant can result in severe engine damage. The company also recommends completely replacing the old coolant rather than simply topping it up when performing a coolant change, and advises riders or technicians to clean the cooling system before refilling it. These precautions are especially important because coolant does more than control engine temperature—it must also provide effective corrosion and frost protection while remaining chemically compatible with the materials and components throughout the motorcycle's cooling system.
