KTM's Cornering Motorcycle Traction Control: The Future of Motorcycle Safety and Performance

When it comes to motorcycles, safety is of utmost importance. This is why KTM has designed the latest generation of their motorcycles with a state-of-the-art feature known as Cornering Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC). The technology referred to here is integral to the motorcycle's software intelligence. 

Its function is to monitor the machine's behaviour and react promptly if it detects any imbalances between the rotational speed of the rear wheel and that of the front wheel or the engine speed.

Motorcycle Traction Control is all about sophisticated programming between sensors and software that influence how the motorcycle reacts depending on the surface and the level of grip. 

The Cornering MTC is an upgrade to this system, which employs two different and independent controllers – one for wheel slip and another for pitch angle control. This advanced technology increases the use dimensions, making the riding experience smoother, more effective, and barely noticeable.

The main advantage of Pitch angle control is in straight-line acceleration. The power reduction is less abrupt when the front wheel lifts up, ensuring more constant acceleration. The system is so rapid that riders barely notice the power reduction, yet it keeps the motorcycle stable.

Furthermore, KTM has made it easy for riders to alter the bike's response to track or road conditions or the state of their tires by allowing them to set the slip level according to 9 levels of wheelspin "slip." 

This facility is available in some models and modes and can be easily fixed and adjusted through the TFT display. However, it is only available in TRACK and PERFORMANCE modes.
