Fresh from Canada, Kawasaki Motors said that they will sell thirty 2015 ZX-14R edition motorcycles for the 30th anniversary of Kawasaki Ninja ZX. US announced that they will sell three hundred versions of the said motorcycle. It will be a Red and Black limited edition bike.  Additionally it will have a gold pinstripe and gold calipers, this special ZX-14R is fitted with thirtieth anniversary logos on the fairing sides and a numbered badge on the tank.

Kawasaki is celebrating the thirtieth anniversary with this Ninja limited-edition model. There will be only 300 units to be sold out in the market which means that only a handful of people will get to buy the most coveted version of the bike.

According to Kawasaki, the sales of the 2015 Kawasaki ZX-14R edition began last July 15 and orders are accepted on a first come first served basis depending on time and date of reservation. The limited-edition ZX-14s won’t be out there in the other market within the world which makes the bike a collectible for Kawasaki fans.

Limited Edition

Following the official announcement of the limited edition bike should be ordered through a Kawasaki dealer with a non-refundable deposit. Although the day of remembrance of the Ninja takes place this year, reservation will already be open for purchase. Every ZX-14R has the bodywork painted within the same firework Red and Graystone paint of its original model built in 1984. The ZX-14R has that limited edition Gold pinstriping as an outline.

The power of the bike is at 1441cc DOHC. Fuel delivery is metered precisely by a DFI system that has an automatic idle position to reduce petrol consumption. The intake system gives the bike more power at high RPM. It has large muffler and tapered headers with catalyzer to for performance and minimizing emission. It has a 1.4 liter engine which provides great acceleration even if RPM is only at 4000.

The most loved feature of this bike by its engineers is not just the performance and style but the rider control. It is not a limited edition to be kept in a garage for display but a bike which puts the rider in charge of the road. It has a feature that lets the rider choose 2 different levels of engine power: High powered engine or low power. Choosing low power feature makes the bike respond by decreasing full power to 75 percent to adapt to prevailing conditions.

Another great notable feature of this limited edition bike is its Traction Control System (KTRC) where the 2 modes are set to maximize acceleration or tuned to perform better at lower traction for slippery roads: A great feature of the engineers which they brag about. This feature can even be turned off completely with a push of a switch. There is also a modified clutch assembly which limits back torque so that it can eliminate wheel hop effects when downshifting.

Overall Performance

The technology put in this bike by its developers not just boast of a limited edition bike for an anniversary celebration but indeed an engineered bike for performance, control, style and power. It is truly a bike that Kawasaki is to be proud of. After 3 decades of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R, this limited edition bike is worth the wait. It is a model a superbike to envy in the road. It is a waste just to keep in the garage. The power to weight ratio is just perfectly engineered in this superbike.

Although the Kawasaki is famous for its lime green colored bikes, this 2015 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R ABS Limited Edition is a monster in the road. This Ninja will surely be one top of the ranks with the Ducati Monsters, the BMW HP4 or the Aprilia RSV4. This is not just more powerful, it is also a collectible. It definitely has that WOW factor that other bikes cannot match! Who will be the first lucky one to have this 30th Anniversary limited edition in Singapore? We shall see...
