Kawasaki Ninja 400 revealed at Tokyo Motor Show

Posted On : 30-10-2017

Our wait for the official release of the Kawasaki Ninja 400 bore to fruition – the bike was unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show.

The all-new, liquid cooled, parallel twin 399cc engine contributes to the improved performance and ease in controllability, boasting a power of 44hp @ 10,000rpm and 38Nm @ 8,000rpm torque. Smooth response, improved low-end torque, coupled with a new downdraft intake and bigger airbox -  it is not surprising as to why the Ninja 400 will be a hit among riders.

Inspired by the Ninja H2, the Ninja 400’s large-volume bodywork passes it off as a larger vehicle and shields the rider more against strong winds. Notable other features include an assist and slipper clutch which makes the lever 20% lighter to pull, as well as a lightweight, steel trellis frame that utilizes the engine as a stressed member. By doing so, the engine helps deliver a 6kg weight over the Ninja 300, putting the Ninja 400’s wet weight at 168kg. The specifications of the Ninja 400 are approximately 1.9m x 0.7m x 1.1m (length x weight x height respectively).

"Not only does the Ninja 400 offer stunning, high-quality looks; its stronger engine performance, light, predictable handling, and relaxed, sporty riding position make it both fun and easy to ride"

"This duality – the ability to offer excitement and ease of riding to wide range of customers – is sure to make the new Ninja 400 a fan favorite."

-Kawasaki

Currently, prices are unreleased. What we do know is that the Ninja 400 will be released in the UK from February next year. However, it is predicted that the Ninja 400 will be available to the Indian market to phase out its previous iteration, the Ninja 300.
