JD Beach Claimed Final Superprestigio Victory for USA Last Week
The weekend just passed and so did the annual Superprestigio Dirt Track event. It was a tough competition for all in Palau Sant Jordi, Barcelona as racers vied for a spot at the top.

Amidst the dirt and the exhaust fumes, against the cheers of the crowd and the rumble of the engines, only one man emerged triumphant. And it is none other than 26-year-old American racer, J.D. Beach.
Beach is no stranger to winning races on European soil as he had done once before at the 2008 Red Bull Rookies Cup. Years later, much older with even more training, he left with a smile on his face and a trophy in his hands.

J.D. Beach at the 2015 Moto America Supersport Championship
Back in 2015, he won the MotoAmerica Supersport Championship and was runner-up this year. But his ultimate Christmas present for 2017 would be winning in the Open class as well as obtaining the overall victory of the prestigious Superprestigio.
His victory was hard-earned, not as easy as people thought it would be, as he experienced some problems with his YZ450F’s wheel and shock that required a change of set-up that was different from what he’d ridden days leading up to the race.
“I struggled yesterday,” Beach admitted. “After practice, we found that my front wheel was broken, so we started changing things.
“But it worked out. Everyone helped.” He went on to say that he was “at a loss for words” at the amount of support he received after a not-so-good qualifying round and a bunch of technical difficulties. “Everyone, and especially Briar’s team, have been such a help. Coming in, I didn’t expect this.”
