In an attempt to meet the growing scrambler and bobber scene, Japanese helmet manufacturer has released the new EX-ZERO.

According to the press release, the new helmet “reflects the style of the custom bike scene and heritage motocross-helmets in one piece - with its sleek design elements, compact chassis and aggressive look.”

EX-ZERO was also apparently developed based on the design of the much-loved EX-series from 1980, although the company’s latest product will have more safety features.

These include a multi-ply Matrix AIM shell, the internal visor (CJ-3), Double-D Ring Retention System, a fully removable and washable Interior System and an Emergency Quick Release System. The CJ-3 is a pull-down visor that can be adjustable to three different positions, and is available in clear, tinted and yellow.

There are also triple gills at the side of the chin bar to provide air flow, while the 3 studs located at the brow line means the rider can also choose to wear a sun visor if required.

The EX-ZERO will be available in sizes XS to XXL, and will be produced in three different outer shell constructions for perfect fit and compact dimensions.

They will also come in six solid colour options - red being a special option - as well as an Equation graphic design (pictured above).

As one of the most respected motorcycle helmet manufacturers in the world, Shoei has provided helmets to top riders from MotoGP and even Formula 1 drivers. But this also means that the helmets will definitely burn a hole in your wallet, as you will probably be paying for the brand name too.

Even so, if the helmet can save your life, why not?

All helmet designs will be made available from September 2018 onwards.
