Isle of Man TT Racer Dan Kneen Died in a Crash During Practice
The practice session for the Isle of Man TT Races did not go well.
Intended for superbikes, superstocks and supersport machinery, the practice race was already red-flagged 10 minutes into the session. The first incident was reportedly caused by a tree being set on fire at the Churchtown area, which required the fire brigade to enter the circuit.

Following the fire, another incident occurred where a course car was supposedly reacting to the incident, and another rider collided into said car and was then airlifted to the hospital.
We find out about these catastrophic events through the statement issued by the Isle of Man TT official Twitter account (@iom_tt):

Following the two accidents, ACU Events Ltd then confirmed that 30-year-old Dan Keen had died in the evening from the injuries sustained during the Superbike qualifying session on the Isle of Man.
The official statement released by the organizers state that “Dan had an accident at Churchtown on the first lap of the session and died at the scene of the incident.”
“Dan made his mountain course debut at the Manx Grand Prix in 2008 and won an unprecedented three races - the Junior, the Newcomers C and the Ultra Lightweight MGP Races.”
“He achieved his first TT podium in last year’s Superstock Race, finishing third in the Superstock TT Race. He has a fastest official lap of 130.347 mph which he set in last year’s Superstock Race and recorded a lap of 132.258 mph (17:06:994) in last night’s Superbike qualifying session.”
“ACU Events Ltd wishes to pass on their deepest sympathy to Dan’s partner Leanne, his family and his many friends in the road racing community and beyond.”

This incredible racer has left the world far too early, but his legacy will be remembered.
