With electric scooters gaining more traction within the motorcycle industry, India’s 22Motors has also joined in on the fun.

The company has just released the new Flow scooter, and we think it is rather intriguing. Here are the details.

Physically, the vehicle looks just like any other electric scooter, but underneath all that fiberglass is actually some pretty advanced technology.
Along with the two-wheeled machine, 22Motors also developed a phone application called “Contact Learning”, which utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning, and can be linked to the vehicle.

“Contact Learning” has the ability to help the user minimize breakdowns and even order spare parts automatically even before the failure happens. It provides cloud-based data analytics as well as an Intelligent Collision Detection Alert, all while giving service based on riding behaviour.

The app also has the following features of automatic geofencing, daily battery use analysis, daily alerts and more.

Now, more of the scooter itself.

Design wise, the motorbike features front telescopic and rear dual hydraulic suspension. The tyres are tubeless and designed in 3 parts for maximum safety and efficiency, while braking is CBS with both front and rear disc for enhanced safety.

All lights are LED, which is apparently the first time the “state-of-the-art light technology” is used in a scooter. The vehicle also offers water and dust protection and even has an underseat storage large enough to place 2 helmets.

The Flow scooter also guarantees a powerful performance, with the powertrain DC Motor developed by Bosch. With 3 riding modes - Reverse, Cruise and Drag - the rider will also be able to ride or move the scooter with ease.

It also features a regenerative braking system, where every time you brake, braking energy is fed back to the battery. This means braking distances are reduced by up to 60% and 6% of the battery capacity is also recycled.

How cool is that?

Speaking of batteries, they are cloud-connected, lithium ion batteries which are lightweight, removable, portable and can withstand adverse temperatures. Each battery can be fully charged in about five hours via the standard charger, while a quick charger offers a four times faster charging. This means it can charge up till 70% in one hour.

A full battery is capable of powering the Flow about 80 km, though 22Motors says that it can fit two batteries within the bike to extend the range to 160 km.

Lastly, the Flow’s top speed rides at 60 km/h, with the max torque at 90 Nm.
