Honda took the wraps off PCX Electric and Hybrid Scooters

Just like the Gold Wing, Honda unveiled two electric scooters at the Tokyo Motor Show – the Honda PCX Electric and Honda PCX Hybrid.

The Honda PCX Electric features the Honda’s Mobile Power Pack, a detachable lithium ion battery system. It also comes with a high-output motor, developed by Honda. According to Autocar Professional, the dimensions of the scooter measures 1923mm x 745mm x 1107mm (Length x Width x Height) respectively.

As the name suggests, the Honda PCX Hybrid utilizes a gas/electric system. Honda also mentioned that this bike employs a high-output battery and ACG (Alternating Current Generator) starter for the engine to give the bike a ‘torqueful’ riding performance.

Both electric scooters are slated to be on sale in Asia next year, including Japan. Whether this bike will be available in Singapore, or details regarding the price, is still unknown.

We are keeping our fingers crossed that more details will be revealed at the Auto Expo in New Delhi, India, which runs from 8th – 11th February next year.
