Highest Motorcycle Museum In Europe Hosts Customized Indian Chief Vintage In Addition to 250 Other Displays
In the foothills of the Timmelsjoch High Alpine Pass Road lies a 3000 m2 premium exhibition of all kinds of automobiles and motorbikes called the ‘Top Mountain Crosspoint’. It opened April of last year and is now Europe’s highest motorcycle museum.

This December, a new addition came in the form of an Indian Chief Vintage aptly named ‘Top Mountain’, in honour of the Top Mountain Motorcycle Museum where it was exhibited.
Styrian Motor Cycle’s (SMC) Markus Krasser customised the Top Mountain to specifically complement the ecosystem of the museum, its paint job featuring subtle details of the museum itself and the rest of the bikes displayed there including premium models like A.J.S., Indian, Triumph, Vincent, Honda, Motoguzzi, Ducati, Harley-Davidson and more.
At first glance, it is quite the overwhelming make. But it does grow on you, especially when seen at the Top Mountain Crosspoint overlooking stretches of pristine white snow.
The customised Indian Chief Village has a 26-inch front wheel with air suspensions for both wheels adjustable via a small switch that is mounted to the left of the rear cylinder where the fuel gauge is similarly hidden, an SMC-made one-off bodywork, a fuel tank from Victory Hammer, and the exhausts routed under the wheel fairings to a single exit in the centre of the rear valance.

The museum itself looks exquisite – on the outset, its curves and contours will remind you of Noah’s ark, albeit smaller and more stylish, its interior similarly designed in organic colour motif, lots of wood – blending in seamlessly with the landscape of the Ötztal alps.
