If you are a fan of the MotoGP sport, you would surely know who Marc Marquez is. As one of the most successful motorcycle racers of all time, what with six Grand Prix world championships to his name and all, you can definitely say that the 25-year-old has pretty much mastered the art of racing on two wheels.

But what about his prowess on four wheeled machines?

Marquez will be getting his first taste of Formula 1 vehicles from June 5th to June 6th, along with Honda MotoGP teammate Dani Pedrosa and nine-time world Motocross world champion Tony Cairoli.

The private test is organized by Red Bull and will be held in Austria. According to Auto Sport, the Spaniard will be given the chance to test a V8-powered Red Bull F1 car, which means that the cars the trio will be testing are those dating back to 2013 or earlier.

Marquez, Pedrosa and Cairoli will reportedly be heading to Red Bull’s F1 headquarters in Milton Keynes to get their seat fittings as well as spend time on the team’s simulator.

This is not the first time the world of MotoGP has crossed with Formula 1 either.

Italian motorcycle racer and multiple MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi had also been spotted testing for Ferrari in the past. In fact, he had allegedly surprised those within the team with his pace.

According to Ferrari engineer Luigi Mazzola, Rossi did about 10 laps, even recording “an incredible time” on the last.

He said: “I remember that Michael Schumacher, who was with me looking at the telemetry, had a stunned look, almost incredulous.”

Rossi even considered switching disciplines back in 2006, although he eventually decided to stay on and race in MotoGP.
