In a wintry morning in January 2017, Victory Motorcycles’ parent company Polaris announced that it was “winding down” the motorcycle manufacturing company. But like all great things that has come to an end, they wrote a memoir to the history of the company. ‘Victory Motorcycles 1998-2017’ features an insider’s perspective on how Victory developed its first model, the V92C, along with detailed descriptions and photos of every subsequent Victory model.
“With the 1998 debut of its V29C,” wrote Lee Klancher and Michael Dapper, “Victory Motorcycles became the New American Motorcycle.” Klancher and Dapper has been with Victory Motorcycles every step of the way, from the very first prototype until the day it was announced that Victory will be no more.

In the blurb, it reads: “Victory’s innovative, stylish heavyweight cruiser motorcycles attracted a loyal, hard-riding following, but not the market share needed to survive. This richly illustrated book covers the brand s history model-by-model and analyzes why the parent company announced in early 2017 that its Victory division would cease operation. This book also features a full reprint of the collectible first Victory history from 1998, The Victory Motorcycle.”
This new book includes previously unpublished photos, styling renderings of Senior Industrial Designer Mike Song, production numbers not previously revealed, behind-the-scenes stories, a complete list of paint colors for every model, and a recap of the brand’s business success and eventual demise.
The hardcover edition is currently retailing at $54.97 on Amazon, from the original $60, for pre-order. It will officially by released on April 1, 2018 by Octane Press, who is actually offering it at a much cheaper price. For only $45, go here to purchase the book.
