This Christmas, we urge you to say safe and make smart decisions.

Unlike Ebenezer Scrooge from A Christmas Carol, Chris RS, French biker and Youtubeur, steps out into the cobbled streets of Paris donning a Santa costume to spread holiday cheer all around. Mounted on his equally-red Kawasaki Z800, he has on the full get-up – red pointy hat with a puffy white tail and Santa’s signature massively curly grey beard combined with safety gear like black leather gloves and a helmet with a camera clipped on to film his activities – ready to bring smiles on Parisians’ faces. But it was just after Place Vendôme where the Ghost of Christmas Present descended to raise the curtains on a nightmarish stage of true Christmas chaos; a sickening scene, an unfortunate unfolding of events.“I had to try to stop this person,” Chris said after witnessing a hit-and-run near the square in the first arrondissement of Paris.

The lights turned green, an engine turned on, and one reckless driver with no care for mankind hit a pedestrian without showing the proper courtesy of stopping to check on the victim. Instead, she sped on without a backwards glance.  Luckily, there was more than just one Good Samaritan in Paris that day as Chris and another man sought the catch the hit-and-run driver.

Despite risky attempts of stopping her, lane splitting, waving her down, placidly asking her to stop in the middle of traffic, she would not let up. It was until Chris managed to flag down the French police that they took over and finally got her to stop. She was caught and handcuffed immediately. Now, we can only hope justice was served.

More importantly, however, Christ took to Facebook to give an update on the hit pedestrian. “For the record, the overturned person is fine. Nothing broken but bruises ... I hope i can meet her soon [sic].”

He said of the experience, “It was a good day, I put on my Santa costume for a new video. People were happy to see me dressed like that and say hello.

“I’m always there when there’s action.”
