Fast, Sleek, Light – Yamaha’s FJR1300P Is The Perfect Police Bike
There is a universal agreement that the faster crime is caught, the better, and any type of device or technology that makes that possible is much appreciated. Yamaha, with the police force in mind, released the FJR1300P Police Bike.

Introduced as “the epitome of performance and reliability”, Yamaha’s flagship police bike is faster, lighter, and infinitely more practical than the usual shiny cruiser ridden by most men in blue.
The FJR1300P has already been made available in Europe, but has not been released in the market in the other parts of the world. With the feedback from European police bike patrols, Yamaha was able to design the Police Bike for exclusive use.

Specifications and choice of police equipment are subject to final confirmation.
Powered by a 1298cc inline-four, the shaft-driven FJR promises performance and agility, even when equipped with the heavy equipment that a police bike requires. It’s a shaft drive bike which ensures smooth power delivery and durability over a traditional chain setup. The suspension has a generous 5.3-inch of travel in front and 4.9-inches in back and it comes standard with ABS.

The tall windshield with an electrically-adjustable 135 mm vertical range ensures wind protection at any speed. Along with the windshield, a handlebar that is 20 mm higher than the civilian model, foot shields, and a comfortable seat cushion combine to reduce rider fatigue when traveling long distances.

The three-part instrument panel (multi-dot LCD) emulates the styling of a luxury sports car.
The police-spec FJR will come as standard with pre-wired electrical connectors for equipment including sirens, speakers, and flashing lights, a rear-mounted radio box, a tall electronically-adjustable windshield, barkbusters built into the wing mirrors, various wind deflectors and crash protection bars.
Keeping the wind off of the officer to reduce fatigue and giving the police department everything it needs to rig up the bike with the necessary equipment are the priorities of the FJR1300P over the standard civilian model.
