Ducati finally took the wraps off the long anticipated Ducati Scrambler 1100 at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy. After the success of the 2017 Ducati Scrambler Café Racer (Scrambler 800), it is inevitable that the Italian motorcycle manufacturer will release another iteration of the Scrambler to accompany its success and popularity.

There will be 3 versions of the Scrambler 1100 – the standard, Scrambler 1100 Special, and Scrambler 1100 Sport. The Special, in a custom grey colour, brings a more classic appearance with aluminium mudguards and black-spoked wheels. The Sport is enhanced with adjustable Öhlins suspensions. The standard and Sport’s wet weight are 206kg, while the Special comes in slightly heavier at 211kg. All versions enjoy a new twin upper spar steel trellis frame, as well as an aluminium subframe in the back.

With an output of 86hp@ 7500rpm and 88Nm@ 4750rpm, there are three ride modes installed for the Scrambler 1100: Active, City and Journey. Active mode provides maximum engine power and a direct throttle connection; Journey mode offers full power but an increased fluid throttle connection. City mode drops engine power to 75hp. The traction-control level in Active mode makes it suitable for sport riding. On the other hand, if you are cruising, Journey mode is preferred.

Brake-wise, the Brembo M4.32B monoblock calipers have you covered. Stopping power is derived from 330mm discs up front and a 245mm disc at the rear. The standard version and Special utilizes a Kayaba rear monoshock, as well as a 45mm upside-down Kayaba fork which is adjustable for preload and rebound. The Sport mounts Ohlins suspension.

Ergonomically, the Scrambler 1100 boasts a low seat height of ~81cm, and handlebars which are lower and wider. If you are wondering about tyres, the Scrambler 1100 carries Pirelli MT60 RS tyres (120/80 ZR 18 for the front tyre and 180/55 ZR17 for the rear tyre).

Headlights and tail lights are LED, and the brand new headlight comes with an “X” pattern built into it. The headlight also has an LED ring around the rim which functions as a daytime running light.

Details regarding the pricing and availability are currently unknown.
