Dakar 2015 Opening Stage
Held at Beunos Aires this weekend was a rather big event, the 2015 Dakar Rally. Rider Sam Sunderland won the opening stage of 2015 representing KTM. He drew first blood with his teammate, Marc Coma behind in third placing. In addition, Paolo Goncalves has sucessfully secure at least a second placing for Honda with just 5 seconds behind Sunderland.
Sunderland mentioned that it is not easy to judge everything now and he should not go all in. He also said that he should leave something for the other stages and he thinks that he is already happy that he posted a good time at the opening.
However, on the other hand, Honda's Goncalves said that if he had known that he was just seconds behind Sunderland, he would definitely try and push a little harder to earn the first placing. But he added on saying that he is still very happy with his second placing on the opening and it is important to avoid the problems that he met in the previous years. Lastly, he mentioned that the Honda team has worked very hard to put his bike together and he hope that he could give something in return by taking the Dakar title.
On the third place, we have Coma which is also a four time Dakar winner. He said that he is happy with his performance. He ended off saying that the start of the race is always the most dangerous because everyone will push too hard to prove something.
