Cyril Despres Shocking Switch

Posted On : 30-12-2014

Cyril Despres, the five-time Dakar Rally winner has announced that he will change from two to four wheels in 2015. It actually rocked the world after Despres announced that he will leave KTM to join Yamaha. He had a hard time racing in 2014 though, but Depres still managed to end it with a fourth placing overall with Yamaha. It's clear that after signing the contract with Peugeot Sport, there is one thing in Cyril's mind. He is satisfied with his five times rally wins.

Despres will be joining a French racer, Peterhansel, following his footsteps. Peterhansel will be teaching and guiding Despres as he, too, did the same thing as what Despres is doing now. Peterhansel was previously from KTM and he moved to Yamaha. But now, Peterhansel seems to be chasing his own car racing dream. However, Despres is not totally out of Yamaha Racing. He will still be involved with Yamaha's rally program and of course, he will be involved with several races.
