Cody Webb Dethrones Taddy Blazusiak on 2018 SuperEnduro World Championship

“It’s great to end the night with both the overall win and the championship points lead,” said KTM USA’s Cody Webb, 29, about his stellar ride at the second round of the 2018 SuperEnduro World Championship.

He had a strong start in Poland as he claimed the runner-up result right behind 34-year-old Taddy Blazusiak on the Akrapovic SuperPole, determining a strong start to his championship campaign which was continued in Germany. The 6,000-full Sachsen Arena cheered on as they witnessed a game-changer for this year’s season. With 58 points, Webb managed to dethrone Blazusiak in third with 15 points. Colton Haaker stands at second place with 45 points.

Webb had a rocky start, finishing as third for the opening races. But he managed to rise to the top after dominating the third and final races which brought him the victory at the end of the night.

“It’s been a good night,” Blazusiak said. “Unfortunately not quite as good as Poland but I’ll take third overall.

“I made a silly mistake by jumping the concrete pipe off the start in the second race and was docked 10 seconds as a result… But we’ll deal with it and move on to round three.”

There were quite a few hiccups for this season’s SuperEnduro including the pile-up of riders at the second race.
