British Royalty Prince William Checks Out Royal Enfield Motorcycle

Posted On : 30-04-2018

Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, is well known to have a fond inclination towards motorcycles instead of their four-wheeled counterparts. Despite toning down riding motorbikes after getting married and having kids, His Royal Highness still enjoys taking his bike out for a royal spin every once in a while.

Recently, he inaugurated the Commonwealth Summit and also took some time off to inspect the Interceptor 650 by Royal Enfield. His Royal Highness even spoke to the big boss of Royal Enfield, Siddhartha Lal, who was also present to show the Prince around the bike.

The Interceptor 650 will be one of two motorcycles expected to be launched by Royal Enfield this year (the other being the Continental GT 650) around the 3rd quarter of this year.

The Bike that Stole the Prince’s Attention:

The motorbike in question is a street motorcycle and comes equipped with a 648 cc, air-cooled, four-valve SOHC and fuel-injected parallel-twin motor, paired with a six-speed gearbox with a slip-assist clutch. Braking comes with a standard dual channel ABS while the seat is a quilted one-piece that should make for a comfortable ride.

The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 also features a conventional telescopic fork and gas-charged twin rear shock absorbers.

Recently, a Sydney Royal Enfield dealer ‘Revelry Cycles’ has also released pictures of the bike, and it seems the Interceptor 650 has come with a new colour scheme. Painted in a bold red and white, the Royal Enfield look is finished with an adequate royal gold stripe running in between, giving it a beautifully retro (and royal) look.

No wonder His Royal Highness showed such intrigue in the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 motorcycle.
