As previously mentioned, Steel Rats is mainly a motorbike/biker game where the player fights against invading alien robots. The company, Tate Multimedia, has also revealed in their latest gameplay trailer that the story will be set in a futuristic post-apocalyptic world that has been taken over by robots known as Junkbots.

Set in Coastal City, a fearless reporter known as Veronica Vance then covers details of how the disaster started, as well as the identities of the Steel Rats - known as “a heroic biker gang doing what all good biker gangs do”, and that is to save their city from aliens.

Check out the Steel Rats story trailer above:

As you can see, there are four main characters (following images are screengrabs from YouTube).

James, the fearless leader:

Lisa, the fastest racer:

Randall, the biker prince:

And Toshi, the teenage genius:

The aura the four characters give off just scream a certain level of badassery, and they all seem to have abilities revolving around destruction and speed too - of course, all performed while astride their motorcycles.

There is also a stunt component in the game where the front tire of the two-wheeler turns into some sort of saw, allowing the player to plough through hordes of enemies and obstacles with ease.

Having caught a glimpse into what is described as “the explosive, diesel-soaked world of Steel Rats and the stunt based, motorbike combat that fuels it”, we simply cannot wait for this game to be officially released.

Although no formal date has been given yet, we can expect Steel Rats to be launched sometime later this year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

As always, for more information on the game, check out the official Steel Rats website. Alternatively, you can also drop by Polish developer Tate Multimedia’s page for any updates.
