Bandit9’s Sci-fi Inspired ‘L Concept’ Steels Your Breath

Posted On : 09-04-2018

If you haven’t heard of Bandit9 before, you might think them a nine-person gang of outlaws roaming the streets with the intent to rob somebody. That is not the case with this motorcycle manufacturing company that proclaims to bring it customers to the edge of motorcycle design.

Get it?  Steel, steal…bandits?

This year, Bandit9 Motors churned out a sci-fi inspired ‘L Concept’. Bandit9 founder and chief designer Daryl Villanueva explains the story behind the bike saying, “It wasn’t about building something futuristic or creating the next thing. It was about bringing to life something you’d only see in the pages of comics or in an episode of Star Trek.”

It has taken two years for this concept to come to its fruition, however, due to Villanueva’s conviction that Bandit9 has yet the skills to successfully finish it. With more builds under his belt, 2018 seemed like the perfect time to finally accomplish his vision.

The road-ready bike is an exemplar of beautiful automotive design with a slick stainless steel unibody tank polished to a mirror finish and a suspended engine styled after the USS Enterprise.

Powered by an air-cooled, 125cc, four-stroke and an four-speed transmission, the L Concept has a top speed of 110km/h.

Other features include a series of red LEDs that make up the lighting system for braking and turning indicators; maneuver controls that make you feel like you’re playing a video game; sculpted grips and levers chiseled from a piece of solid aluminum.

However, with all that said, it looks mighty uncomfortable to ride. The teardrop saddle might be crafted from Italian calf leather, but it might not feel as beautiful when you’re on the road. As Regina George said, “Stop trying to make fetch happen.”

We appreciate the futuristic creations, though if they were more practically made it would be more marketable.

The L Concept is available for sale for $10,950 including free door-to-door shipping. More information can be found here.
