A Biopic Based On The Life of Zenith Irfan Slated to be Released April 20

At the ripe age of 20 years old, Zenith Irfan has made her way through the northern terrains of Pakistan from Lahore, through Northern Pakistan and up to the Khunjerab in June 2015 on her motorcycle. Her story is to be celebrated through a biopic called Motorcycle Girl written and directed by Adnan Sarwar, whose first feature film titled 'Shah' was a biopic based on Pakistani Olympian boxer Hussain Shah.

20-year-old Zenith Irfan is the first woman to travel across the Northern terrains of Pakistan. A biopic based on her life will be directed and written by Adnan Sarwar and is slated to be released in April 20, starring Sohai Ali Abro.

In a country as conservative as Pakistan, women are rarely allowed, if not at all, to be out on their own unaccompanied. Irfan is a trailblazer for other women, Pakistani or not alike, whose multiple motorcycle journeys display the excellence with which women can live their lives if given the freedom they deserve.

"I have always felt that those of us who work in the film or TV industry have a responsibility to tell stories which can influence our society in a positive manner, while providing entertainment to the audience", said writer and director Adnan Sarwar.

"This film will be the second installment of the "Heroes Trilogy" that I have planned. Zenith's story is important because at such a young age, she is doing things that challenge gender stereotypes which are deeply engrained in the fabric of our society. This film will be my little effort towards inspiring a future where, hopefully, the women of our country will be more empowered, truly independent and unshackled from archaic taboos that hold back their progress.

“It’s a very interesting film and I have high hopes for this project. I have scripted a fictional world around the core true story of her journey and I hope that Motorcycle Girl will help further the cause of women empowerment in Pakistan.”

Irfan said she never knew a motorcycle could hold such power. “My brother brought me a bike so, that I could go to university. In June 2015, I travelled from Lahore up to Khunjerab pass which was a wonderful experience for me.  Adnan Sarwar has purchased the story rights. I’m really satisfied by the making of the biopic ‘Motorcycle girl’ and the filmmakers have made it beyond my expectations.

“It was the dream of my father to tour northern areas on bike. He could not do so in his lifetime. So this whole journey is dedicated to him.”

Irfan herself has documented and shared to the public her own travels on her Facebook page, Zenith Irfan: 1 Girl 2 Wheels.

The release date of Motorcycle Girl starring Sohai Ali Abro has finally been locked in April 20.
