The FIM International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) is celebrating its 93rd year in 2018, a monumental event to be held in Chile who last hosted it ten years ago. After a decade, the ISDE is going back to South America, in the city of Viña del Mar, an hour away from Santiago, Chile’s capital.

Viña del Mar was selected as the hub for the event due to its “perfect mix of sand and Mediterranean forest” that was “the ideal terrain” for the first five days before the final day’s motocross inside of the city.

However, the event has been rescheduled to Nov. 12-17 from the original dates of Oct 22-27 although the location remains unchanged.

As “the world’s largest annual off-road motorcycle competition”, the best off-roader teams from all over the globe are sent to compete in the race around exotic locations. They can expect to be tested on sandy beaches, rocky crevices, deep woods, and motocross tracks to secure the grand prize - the ISDE World Trophy.

Competing for the world title would be those in the category of The World Trophy Team that consists of four riders. Meanwhile, the Junior and Women’s Trophy Team would be made up of three riders. Nevertheless, countries can still send a number of three-rider club teams to compete for team honour.

While teams are competing for team honours, their individual timings would also be considered for gold, silver, and bronze medals. It’s a win-win for everyone.

The qualifier rounds of the AMA ISDE are extremely important as it would determine who would go to six of the seven national US Club Teams whereas the AMA ISDE Advisory Committee would select the US World, Junior, and Women’s trophies.
