Big Three Punch Combo: Low Price, Light Weight, Stylish Looks

The New Yamaha FZ 07 comes to no surprise when it sports its three punch combo: affordability, light weight and stylish looks. Out of the four Japanese motorcycle companies, Yamaha is the only one who appears to be bouncing back from the recession in 2008 by creating more exciting models which do not dig deep on the wallet.

The 2015 Yamaha FZ 07 is a perfect entry-level all rounder bike. It is great for riders who value fuel economy and maneuverability. It features an all new 700cc twin engine that uses a Crossplane Concept 270 degree crank. It has a 75 horsepower with 68.1 Nm torque at 6500 RPM. Comparing to its bigger sibling, the FZ-09, this 07 are set to reduce piston friction which is designed to decrease petrol consumption and also decrease hp loss. It is also a clear winner in fuel economy compared to the FZ6R. This bike sports a 24.6/L with its small 14 Litres tank. With such horsepower it still gives you fuel economy. It has an EFI engine which gives a much cleaner response of the throttle and well chosen ratio with its six speed gear. It can be shifted to a high gear for smooth cruising and more efficient drive.

The style itself is new. It makes perfect aesthetical sense and at the same time doesn’t compromise with its functionality. It is a naked bike but style is to be applauded. It has a big gas tank cover which makes it look muscular. With stock parts it can look good on its own. There is no need to buy aftermarket parts to make it look better, but at the same time aftermarket parts will make it look more customized. The headlights are positioned low and present an aggressive look. The swingarm’s design is also built for comfortable driving and maneuverability. The dash meter is rider friendly with digital odo. It has a 10 spoke cast aluminum wheels. It has a comfortably designed seat for the rider and the back rider.

Riding Experience
The engine is a great drive. Shifting from one gear to another is a breeze. As compared to the CB500F of Honda and the SFV650 from Suzuki, the torque is instantly available for response. Once you reach 7000 rpm you would feel that it would drop off but other than that the response is great. Even if you put the gear in fourth and dip the rpm to 2000, you will still feel a quick response of the engine.
The brakes respond quite well. It fits the bike’s performance. It provides an ample braking power. The suspension responds well to the braking and the acceleration as well. It could do better though which can make a more comfortable ride. It is a blast of a ride not just because it is fuel efficient but also of its power at a cheaper price tag.
You can compare it to other bikes in its category like the SFV650 which is more expensive, not to mention the Ducati Monster 696 which is much more expensive than the Yamaha FZ 07. It can also be compared to KTM’s Duke 690 but the ride experience is no match. The FZ 07 definitely is a great ride.

Conclusion
The 2015 Yamaha FZ 07 is a nicely built bike which is affordable, stylish and light weight. For a bike in its class, this new model FZ-07 is not a downscale version of the FZ-09 but a different bike on its own. It is specifically designed with accessories which are for both style and function. Its comfortable seats and soft saddle backs prove this point. With the current trend in the market, this is likely to be patronized by bike lovers because of the shift of interest from sports bikes to street-oriented sports motorcycles. In its naked and upright good looking position, Yamaha expects that this bike will have a warm global welcome. It is great to ride in the urban streets of Singapore or cruise in the long straight highways. With its mid of 2014, it is a great mid level bike worth looking at. Great on the budget and yet stylish and powerful!
