$10,000 Prize for Winner of "The Wench: Scout Bobber Build Off Competition"

Posted On : 11-04-2018

Organised by Indian Motorcycle, America’s first motorcycle company, this competition aims to celebrate those who “find their sense of identity, purpose and glory, spending painstaking hours wrenching on garage builds.” In a collaboration with Hot Bike Magazine and a panel of experienced judges, this competition will seek out the top 3 most talented craftsmen in America with not just the vision but the ability to transform stock Indian Scout Bobbers into their own customized motorcycle art. A unique feature of this competition is the fact that only amateurs are allowed to participate, as the spotlight this time round will be given to those who tinker in motorcycle customisation because of their passion instead of those who have to do it for work or any other professional reasons.

Reid Wilson, Senior Director of Indian Motorcycle, stated that they “wanted to create a program that would celebrate the unsung heroes who spend countless hours wrenching on their bikes”, those who don’t do it “for recognition or notoriety, but solely for self-expression and the pure art of customizing a motorcycle”. With a build budget of $10,000, participants will design their own version of a stripped-down Scout Bobber and the top 3 designs will be revealed before going through a fan vote. The eventual winner will then get to walk away with a prize of $10,000 and a feature spread in Hot Bike Magazine.

Currently, the list of semi-finalists has already been released, and one of them hails from Milwaukee, hometown of Harley Davidson Inc.
