“She informed me she had never ridden a motorcycle, and she would like to try sometime before she passes on,” Troy Roberts, the grandson of Datha Roberts, said in an interview with the KQ2.
So, when his grandma turned a ripe old age of 100, Troy surprised her with a motorcycle ride. Although the birthday surprise was initially supposed to be just him and a few other friends, the event caught the attention of many via social media, and in the end about 50 other bikers turned up.

To celebrate her 100th birthday, the group of bikers rode from Savannah to Krug Park while showing support for Datha and her first ever motorcycle ride. After the ride to Krug Park, Datha then went to celebrate with friends and family.
“I was just overwhelmed with everything. I expected a little thing and not a big thing,” Datha said, who had enjoyed her ride tremendously and even called it a “very exciting experience.”

She is extremely lucky to have such a filial grandson to fulfil her wish as well as the other bikers who came down to support her.
“She’ll always remember this, it’ll be a very special day for her,” Troy said.
Meanwhile, Datha is still leading a very active lifestyle by continuing to pursue the things she loves such as dancing and playing cards. But she has not forgotten the feeling of riding on a motorcycle either.
“I’m ready to go again,” the vital woman said.
