Key Engine Differences
Older Dax Models (E.G., 1970S St70‑Era) Used Smaller Air‑Cooled Singles, Often Around 50–70 Cc, With Carburetion, Basic Drum Brakes, And Simpler Suspension.

The New Dax 125 Uses A 124 Cc Air‑Cooled Sohc Four‑Stroke Single, Same Basic Unit As The Grom/Monkey/Trail 125, With Fuel Injection (Pgm‑Fi), A Semi‑Automatic Centrifugal Clutch, And A 4‑Speed Foot‑Shift Gearbox Instead Of A Fully Manual Clutch‑Lever Setup On Many Older Dax Variants.

Chassis And Spec Step‑Up
Modern Dax 125 Gets Inverted Front Forks, Twin Rear Shocks, Front Disc Brake With Abs, And Led Lighting, Whereas The Original Dax Had Spindly Forks, Tiny Drum Brakes, And Minimal Electronics.

Overall The New Model Is Still Lightweight (Around 107 Kg Wet) But Rides Much More Composed And Safer In Wet Or Urban Conditions, Making It A Practical Step Up From The Older‑Spec Dax While Keeping The Same Playful, Dog‑Like Character.
