Yesterday's release of the TVS Apache RR310 into the indian market makes our mouths water today

After two years in the making, the TVS Apache RR 310 was finally launched in India yesterday for the machine price around SG$4,200. The flagship motorcycle from TVS Motor Company shares its underpinnings with the BMW G 310 in their partnership with TVS Motor Company to co-develop a 313cc line of single-cylinder motorcycles.

The Apache RR 310 is versatile in its own right as it was said to serve various roles like being a commuter or touring motorcycle as well as being an occasional track bike.It has a 312cc, single-cylinder with 4 valves per cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with a maximum power of 34bhp at 9700rpm and a maximum torque of 27.3Nm at 7700rpm. Its reverse inclined engine helps centralize the mass of the bike with the engine closer to the wheel even with a short wheelbase that was compensated by a much longer swingarm.

Other components of the entry-level sportbike was upside down Kayaba front forks and rear monoshock. A 300mm front petal disc handles the brakes that are gripped by a radial caliper from ByBre and a 240mm rear disc along with a dual-channel ABS. Its switchgear is high-quality with its hazard light and sealed and non-contact switch modules.

With an LCD dash and LED headlamp arrangement, its chassis is a steel trellis frame similar to the BMW G310R and BMW G310GS.

The TVS design team designed a fairing after wind tunnel measurements for benchmarking aerodynamic targets and the employment of computer fluid dynamics. After 200 various CFD iterations, the result was a bike with a better top speed than even the G310R; the actual top speed measured during testing was 163kmph. It joins a long line of motorbikes in the TVS that ranges from 160cc, 1800cc, and 200cc in displacement.
