Jambon-Beurre Motorcycle - which translates to butter ham - is the Paris-based startup created by Antonin Guidicci and Benjamin Cochard. Originally known for their custom ICE motorcycle designs, the duo started challenging a new route in the form of an electric motorcycle named Gloria.

Said to be a fashionable, functional and fast electric motorcycle, the Gloria aims to target young ridership who hold more interest in fashion and customization.

As the company website had so agitatedly stated: “GLORIA is not just another ugly bike where a pair of geeks decided to implant a washing machine motor and told their friends ‘we are changing the world!!’”

Instead, GLORIA is a “true revolution” inspired by the DNVB business model. It is a fully customizable electric motorcycle drivable with a car license, whatever that means.

Jambon-Beurre Motorcycle had started this project by first looking at their customer base, which was when they realized that they were succeeding with a highly specific and unique type of clients.

Speaking to The Vintagent, the company said: “We realized that our style and communication was reaching people that are not the usual motorcycle target market. Sixty percent were women (versus only 13 percent across the entire current French market), mostly urban dwellers, and most of them had never owned a motorcycle before. The idea of creating a real motorcycle brand came as a result. A brand designed to dust off the current motorcycle market that still works like it did 30 years ago.”

And thus, the Gloria was born.

The Gloria electric motorcycle is designed to be highly customizable via an online design platform, and as described by the company will have an “unusual design mixing vintage shapes, futuristic equipment, and street fashion trends.”

To cater to the homebodies interested in picking up riding, the company has also set up a shopping platform entirely accessible online. After choosing and designing the bike of your choice, the company will deliver your new machine right to your doorstep.

There are reportedly also options to go back online and view different modifications and style so that you can keep sprucing up your new ride.

After all, one has gotta keep up with the trends.

Gloria Factory also claims that the electric motorcycle will be similar to a 125cc motorcycle, and yet will have the capacity to accelerate as high as a larger, 300cc motorcycle due to its electric torque. The electric two-wheeler is also said to have a top speed of 120 km/h.

The French company has also partnered with Pymco, another local company that specializes in electric power management, so we can probably expect some cool technologies gradually implemented into the bike as well.

Sales are slated to begin in 2020.
