Travis Pastrana Will Attempt Legendary Stunt Performer Evel Knievel’s Iconic Motorbike Jumps
You read that right. Professional motorsports competitor and stunt man Travis Pastrana will be paying tribute to the Evel Knievel by performing three of his most iconic jumps.
Nitro Circus and the History channel will be broadcasting a three-hour live event ‘Evel Live’ on the 8th of July, where it will see action sports superstar Pastrana push his limits with the three spectacular stunts. Pastrana will first be aiming to surpass Knievel’s 50 crushed car record, followed by his 14 bus record by jumping 16 Greyhound buses. To end the night on a high note, Pastrana will finish with the ever-famous Caesars Palace fountain jump that left Knievel grasping for his life 50 years ago.

In true Evel Knievel fashion, Pastrana will be attempting these jumps on a v-twin motorcycle - the Indian Scout FTR750. If he were to be successful, Pastrana will also be making history by being the first person to complete all three jumps in one night.
According to the press release, Matt Iseman, most well-known for American Ninja Warrior, will be hosting the event alongside journalist and Emmy nominated producer Sal Masekela. Adding on to the star-studded cast will be former Miss USA and ESPN reporter Kimberly Pressler as the event’s sideline reporter, and ABC Chief Meteorologist Ginger Zee as the weather analyst. The latter will be breaking down for the audience how the weather may affect Pastrana over the three-hour broadcast.

A roundtable of celebrity and expert panelists consisting of athletes, analysts and more will also be joining ‘Evel Live’, where they will “provide insight and commentary throughout the evening from their set overlooking the Caesars Palace fountains.”
The three-hour event will also feature Evel Knievel’s bereaved family members, who will be discussing the persona and legend their beloved family member had created as well as the impact he had left behind, especially on America. They will also be stating their reasons as to why Pastrana is the perfect person to pay tribute to Evel.
The cherry on top will be archival footage of the history behind Knievel’s many daring jumps shown throughout the three hours.
